I used .040 aluminum sheet to make the lower shutter door. I attached a weather strip to the bottom of the lower door to seal it when the shutter is in the closed position. I attached an aluminum bar across the bottom of the upper shutter for support and trim. The upper photo shows detail of how the lower door slides into the shutter frame. The lower photo is the completed shutter in the closed position.
